Ann Patchett is an American author. Born in 1963 in Los Angeles, California, she is the daughter of novelist Jeanne Ray. Patchett is best known for her multiple-award-winning novel Bel Canto. In 2012, Patchett was on TIME Magazine’s list of 100 most influential people in the world. Her other novels include The Patron Saint of Liars, The Magician's Assistant, Run, State of Wonder.
